Producer's NoteHeadless Front Character Reference for Stable AI Video
A controlled MiniMax H3 test of separating face identity from a headless front body asset for distant AI video shots.

Three-view character references often mix two different jobs: the face establishes identity, while a full-body front view establishes proportions and clothing. Removing the head from the front asset is intended to keep those jobs separate.
The controlled test
Both MiniMax H3 generations used the same face close-up and back-view image, the same green utility jacket, beige shirt, jeans, boots, plaza, framing goal, and five-second walking action. The control added a headed front full-body asset. The technique run replaced it with a neck-down front asset while retaining the shared face reference.
What the frames show
Both outputs preserved the clothing and general body proportions. The control placed the walker farther to the right and somewhat larger; the headless version was smaller and more centered. Faces remained recognizable in both frames, but the framing difference means the test did not isolate a measurable reduction in distant face drift.
A practical asset structure
Use a face close-up for identity, a back view for rear clothing and silhouette, and a front body asset for proportions. A headless front asset can make that division explicit, but it should not be treated as a substitute for a face reference. Keep shot scale and camera placement fixed when testing its effect.
Evidence boundary
This is one A/B pair on MiniMax H3 with an inconclusive visual outcome. The asset split remains a useful production organization pattern, while the claim that it reduces distant-shot face changes needs a tighter repeat with matched composition.
